Graduation should not be remembered for Negative Incidents

Every year in the spring there are stories in the news about mistakes high school graduates make. They put in more than twelve years of hard work only to let poor choices ruin their future. Even the brightest, most intelligent students often make mistakes around this time. They get caught up in the moment and want to celebrate, but judgement is clouded by emotion and excitement. There are numerous parties, events, and other celebratory events planned, which means plenty of opportunities to make the wrong choice. This can be difficult for families, especially if their child has made very few mistakes up until this point. In the worst instances these mistakes have consequences that last a lifetime. If you get cold feet about college, you may be tempted to decide not to go. Before doing anything official, have a long talk with your family. Many people opt out of a year of college and there is nothing wrong with it. You just need to ensure it is the right choice for you. As you approach graduation, be prepared to celebrate and enjoy, but be sure you do not make poor choices.
